Senior Team Lead .NET Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced engineer with leadership qualities that can fulfil a crucial role in Synetec’s future, we need this individual to take ownership of our development function and support our engineers to get them delivering their best. They need to embrace and thrive in taking on the challenge of a small growing company with many exciting projects and interesting clients. The company is expanding and we want someone that can grow with us and play a leading role in keeping our increasing list of clients happy and our team improving while delivering in a positive and motivated environment. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role for a motivated diligent individual who wants to utilise their potential.

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring Performance – establishing and monitoring relevant KPI’s and benchmarks
  • Mentoring of Engineers – mentoring of junior engineers & supporting of engineers with system architecture, technical discussions and problem-solving
  • Recruiting New Engineers – Interviewing, evaluating technical competency and cultural fit
  • Estimating – working with engineers to create new system and enhancement estimations
  • Training – identifying training requirements for individual engineers and managing corresponding training courses
  • Quality Monitoring – pro-actively establishing and monitoring best coding practises and addressing any breaches
  • Reviews – conducting code reviews of high impact stories
  • Performance Management – Pro-actively identifying poor performance and working with team members to improve
  • Line Management – Managing Engineer coverage, processing holiday requests and regular HR functions
  • Identifying and resolving impediments to keep the team working efficiently
  • Technical interface between clients, 3rd party vendors and the business
  • Management Reporting
  • Identifying and Implementing new/changes to existing processes
  • Motivating and inspiring the team to keep them happy while they are delivering

 

Essential Skills:

  • A can-do Problem Solver
  • Conflict Resolution/a real people’s person
  • Good knowledge/experience of design patterns
  • Good knowledge/experience of designing greenfield application architecture
  • Good knowledge/experience of writing testable software
  • Minimum of 5 years UK experience required
  • Experience in mentoring engineers
  • C#
  • SQL (e.g. MSSQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle)
  • Entity Framework (or Nhibernate)

  • Microsoft Certification
  • AWS Certification
  • Computer Science Degree
  • Experience of a JavaScript Web Framework (e.g. Angular, React, Node)
  • REST API Development
  • Experience of a cloud platform such as AWS or Azure
  • MVC

  • £ 55,000 to £ 65,000 depending on experience
